Adult consultation group

We have a consultation group of people who use health and social care services. This group provide valuable insight into the issues that are important in their lives and how care systems work from their perspective. The consultation group includes disabled and older people, family carers and some representatives from voluntary sector organisations.

This longstanding group meet twice a year to help us prioritise important issues to cover in the Unit’s research. The group also assist in identifying appropriate ways to contact and recruit people to our studies, improving the processes that take place within the research (eg. important topics for interviews and outcome measures) and when projects are finished, the group give advice on the best ways to ensure that the people who need to know the results, get the information. Sometimes we run workshops or conferences to tell people about our research and members of the group are involved in these.

If you would like to know more about becoming a member of this group please contact us to discuss this further.
