Mature students

The department encourages applications from mature students to read History of Art at York at all levels and we have increasing numbers of mature students taking both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

"As a mature student I approached the course with some trepidation, however, the support and encouragement given by staff and fellow students has been superb."

Taught MA graduate, Marti Hall

Entry requirements

Where possible we expect prospective mature students to meet our entry criteria. However, we also aim to treat every applicant on his or her individual merits and to take into account particular circumstances and experience. Therefore, if you're interested in applying, but do not meet our entry requirements, please do get in touch with the appropriate admissions contact for the level of study you're hoping to undertake to discuss your circumstances. Should you go on to apply, please bear in mind that it is our policy to interview all mature applicants.
