Audio recording

Recording a lecture

A pilot project is running using a lecture recording system which can record both audio and video, or audio with sequenced stills (enhanced podcast) .  Recorded content can be made available via the University's centrally supported Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) or other means if required. If you would like to take part in the trial, please contact itsupport@york.ac.uk.

If you would like to produce an audio recording of your lecture to make available to your students then please contact the Audio-Visual Unit who will be able to record the lecture for you and make it available in a digital format.

Please remember to advise your students that these recordings are copyright and can only be downloaded for personal, not shared, use.

Other types of audio recording

If you would like to record interviews, feedback for your students, or other types of content, then please contact the Communications Office.  We have equipment you can borrow, and provide training in its use.

Online delivery of audio

Contact the Web Office (web-office@york.ac.uk) for help with adding audio to your web pages. If you are using the CMS see Adding an audio player

If you would like to use your audio content to support a module you are teaching on the VLE, then please contact Wayne Britcliffe in the E-Learning Development Team.
