Voting and economic performance

Posted on 7 May 2014

Our next Elevator Pitch, to be delivered by Dr Andrew Pickering, will explore the ways in which politics and economics are closely interrelated, and promises to offer a fascinating insight into the UK electoral system.

Dr Pickering's research lies at the intersection of politics and economics, covering such areas as political economics, applied macroeconomics and environmental and natural resource economics. He has authored or co-authored works including 'Ideology, Competence and Luck: What determines general election results?', 'Political Competition, Political Donations, Economic Policy and Growth', and 'The Production Function for Votes'. This event is particularly timely given the forthcoming MEP and general elections.

The talk will take place on 13 May at 4pm in D/L/047.

The event is open to everyone so come along and invite your friends! Join the event on Facebook.
