Latvian success for final-year student

Posted on 7 April 2014

Third-year Economics & Politics student Erki Taube has reached the final of the PeakTime international business competition.

PeakTime is an international contest aimed at undergraduate students. In 2013-14
around 1,200 students from 70 countries participated, either individually or in teams of four. Erki is
competing individually and has managed to secure a place in the final round.

The finals of the competition are set to take place in Latvia, in early May. They follow on from two preliminary rounds, the first a CESIM business simulation game and the second a case study in which the participants were challenged to devise a business strategy for a company. The case study was based on a real-life situation but adapted for the competition environment.

"All in all", says Erki, "The preliminary rounds were very exciting and useful - almost an acceptable reason to postpone doing my coursework..."

We wish him the very best of luck!
