About us

The School of PPE nurtures independent thinkers ready to engage with the complex issues of our time and to pursue diverse and impactful career paths.

At York, we offer innovative, interdisciplinary courses. Crossing between Philosophy, Politics and Economics, we also offer dedicated PPE modules. Our teaching inspires curiosity and critical insight across disciplinary boundaries.

Our students explore how societies think, govern and prosper. In turn, they develop the skills to analyse and engage with the major challenges of our time.

Offering the second-oldest PPE course in the UK, we're home to a vibrant community, where big ideas meet real-world questions.

Club of PEP

The Club of PEP is a student society associated with the School of PPE. It's entirely student-run and separate from the University.

The Club of PEP is instrumental in the lives of our students. From day one, anyone studying within the School of PPE becomes a member of the Club of PEP. The Club puts on various social and academic events throughout the year, supporting students during their study.

Explore the Club of PEP on Instagram

Upon joining Club of PEP you are allocated to a family which basically consists of six or seven people in first year and two people in second or third year. They act as ‘mentors’, offering advice on what to expect from your degree, and giving you any tips and tricks to make the most of life whilst at York.
