Event details

Please note that this is event is for members of IGDC and Arts & Humanities scholars only.

Members of the Interdisciplinary Global Development Centre and Arts & Humanities scholars are invited to join us for an afternoon of interdisciplinary engagement and discussion at Harewood House!

Members of both centres will join together on a guided tour of Austen and Turner: A Country House Encounter. The tour will be followed by a discussion (over tea and cakes) of the themes raised by the exhibition, including inequality, marginality, slavery and representation.

The event offers a brilliant opportunity to develop new interdisciplinary relationships and conversations in an inspiring environment. It is a chance to explore the many intersections between arts and humanities and social science scholarship in the field of global development, and to imagine how future research projects can build on these important synergies. IGDC and HRC will work with you to follow up on shared interests and promising conversations after the event.

The event will take place on Friday 11 July. Transport to and from Harewood House will be provided, leaving at midday and returning late afternoon. Places are limited, so please only sign up if you are able to come to the event!
