Sarah, MA in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture‎

I chose to come to York for the MA in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture because it seemed to offer the most dynamic and wide-ranging programme of study. My initial hunch proved to be correct: the programme was a lively, challenging, and rewarding experience, broadening my horizons at the same time as allowing me to hone in on some of my specific research interests.

The inter-disciplinary scope of the MA – and now the Humanities Research Centre, too – meant belonging to a vibrant research community. I would thoroughly recommend post-graduate study at York – I enjoyed myself so much that I’ve stayed on for a PhD!
