Lavanya, MA in Cultures of Empire

Literature students ought to know better than to judge a book by its cover but I'm afraid I did that with the campus. I decided to visit anyway, fairly sure I could not spend three years surrounded by so much sixties architecture. Now in the midst of my Masters degree I've stayed for nearly four.

The funny thing about York is that once you meet the people the buildings no longer matter - the academic staff who are experts in their field and yet want to hear your views, the other students who are as passionate as you, the administrative staff who are so lovely they take on an unofficial pastoral role. Don't take my word for it though; come here and find out for yourself.
