Alex, MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture

I chose to study at York because my chosen MA programme has allowed me to specialise in my particular period of interest while also providing a wide variety of modules within the same period. I've studied everything from Flaubert to Margaret Atwood and have learned so much, not only about the literary texts at hand but also about all kinds of contemporary debates. The Department has specialists in so many niche areas of literature that there's always someone on hand to discuss ideas with, and that goes for my peers too, who always provide fascinating insights in seminars.
