Platform Scratch Night
Event details
Platform is a branch within the school which aims to use the resources and spaces to develop students' creativity. Platform seeks to respond to the needs of students and staff by enabling them to work on their new projects using the school's resources to develop them.
Platform hosts a Scratch Night each semester in which students and staff can submit their developing projects, whether that's a devised piece, an extract from a script, poetry or anything you want to stage in a creative and safe space. The Scratch Night is a chance to get feedback on your work, both verbal and written, and is a great space to test out early unfinished work.
As well as this, Platform Scratch Nights are a brilliant way to meet students and lecturers within the school, from cohorts from the years above or below you, or even students from other courses within ACT. Platform's social aspect is a big emphasis for us this year. We aim to create a space where we can strengthen the ACT community and connect creatives to one another, a community that can work together to create all sorts of work.
We aim to make Scratch nights a social event as well as space to share work. Drinks and snacks are provided, and the casual, laid back way in which the event runs emphasises this. Platform is for the students, run by students. Any ideas or events you would like to see, let us know! Platform is a flexible and changing section of ACT, that aims to enhance the community.
To apply to share 10-15 minutes of work please complete the Platform Scratch Pitch form by Wednesday 10th April (Week 7). Note, work presented at Platform Scratch can be work that you have previously developed on your degree but cannot be material that is in progress to be submitted for an assessment that has not yet taken place.
