Event details

Sam Steiner’s You Stupid Darkness is a dark comedy that tells the story of four volunteers answering the phones at a helpline in the early hours of the morning - when our thoughts are at their darkest and most overwhelming. Throughout the play we see the four volunteers share their own personal struggles, trying to support one another as well as the people on the other end of the phone in a search for connection. It is an urgent play about the struggle for optimism and community amid the chaos of a world falling apart. Ultimately portraying the idea that everything might be alright… as long as there is someone there to listen.
