Sustainability-related modules
New for 2023/24, Environmental Sustainability at York (ESAY) is offering a suite of sustainability-related York Interdisciplinary Modules (YIMs) available to undergraduate and postgraduate students from all Departments and Schools (subject to timetabling availability). These modules will allow you to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary groups to solve local, regional and global sustainability challenges.

Big Community Challenge 2023
This year's Big Community Challenge, organised by York Cares, will focus on the maintenance and restoration of river and wetland areas in York and activities will aim to preserve and improve biodiversity in the city.
Events and activities will take place throughout June and there will be a chance to volunteer on a restoration project as part of our environmental sustainability mission. We’re backing this as part of our 60th anniversary to make it the biggest community challenge yet.
If you're interested in volunteering for the Big Community Challenge 2023, register your interest on the York Cares website.
The Sustainability Clinic
Help local and regional organisations and businesses achieve their sustainability goals. Work with students from a range of disciplines on 'live' real world sustainability problems.
The Sustainability Clinic is part of our suite of York Interdisciplinary Modules (YIMs) and is available to choose as a 20-credit elective module in 2023/24. Students from all Departments/Schools across the University have an opportunity to take part (subject to timetabling availability/department constraints).
