Ailish Byrne

Ailish joined us at York in 2014 to undertake an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Since graduating in 2018 with an integrated Masters degree in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, Ailish has worked within the York Trials Unit (Health Sciences Department) as a Trial Support Officer, helping to coordinate surgical intervention trials.

Ailish has undertaken a second Masters in Applied Health Research, and is due to begin an NIHR Predoctoral Fellowship in October 2021. Her primary research interest is chronic pain conditions that predominantly affect women, and she has developed a huge passion and interest in gender inequity within the healthcare system, and beyond into the wider world. Ailish joined the working group to help establish a community for all women at the university who want to feel safe, supported, and to learn from all the inspirational women we have at York.
