Prime Minister’s Fellowship

The Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) at the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangladesh has been awarding Prime Minister Fellowships to government officials, university educators, and high-achieving individuals in higher education since 2018.

  • Academic year: 2024/25
  • Open to: Students from Bangladesh
  • Qualification level: Postgraduate taught

Since York is ranked within the World Top 200 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings, Bangladeshi candidates with an offer from York are eligible to apply for funding through this scheme.

One of the primary objectives of the Fellowship is to facilitate the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Candidates will need to evidence a linkage between their proposed degree at York and the development of Bangladesh.

Relevant areas include: Economics and Related Studies, Finance, Sociology, Politics and International Relations (including Public Policy and Public Administration), Environment, Computer Science, Applied Sciences (Biological, Medical Science, Engineering, etc).

Eligibility

Open to students from Bangladesh only.

Eligibility criteria: Age limit: 45 years

Candidates must have an unconditional offer in place for a Masters degree at York.
