As a member of staff, you have access to a range of free resources if you need help, as part of Health Assured's Employee Assistance scheme.

Our Employee Assistance Scheme includes a free, confidential advice line, with counsellors available to talk through any problem, no matter how big or small, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call them on 0800 028 0199.

How does the advice line work?

The first time you call, you'll need to provide Health Assured with some contact details so they can set up an account for you. Depending on the nature of your call, you will be put through to either a qualified counsellor or a legal advisor. All counsellors are accredited to or registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or an equivalent professional body.

Who will know I've called the advice line?

Your details are confidential and Health Assured will not tell the University or anyone else that you have called. Health Assured only pass on general statistics about how many people have used the service and reasons for use. The University doesn't receive any information which could be used to identify individual users. In the rare case where they think someone may be at risk of harming themselves or others, or if they legally have to, then they may need to break this confidentiality. Health Assured would aim to do this in full consultation with you. Their privacy policy is on the Health Assured website (username university and password york).
