York Centre for Conflict and Security

Welcome to the York Centre for Conflict and Security (YCCS), a major new interdisciplinary centre for research and practice examining Global Security Challenges and the causes of international and civil conflicts around the world.

Our researchers study a wide range of topics including nuclear proliferation, global health security, peacebuilding after civil wars, political violence, gender, and terrorism. Led by the Department of Politics and International Relations, with partners worldwide we use interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to tackle security challenges across the Globe.
