From arts and crafts sessions to baking, gardening, quizzes, live music events and formal dinners, no matter what your student type, there will be something to get involved with, new skills to learn, and new people to meet.

Thinking about moving into private housing next year? Come along to this friendly, informative session for Halifax students.

Hosted by the Student Housing Adviser, and joined by College Staff, Second/Third Year Contacts (STYCs), and Second/Third Year Mentors (STYMs), this talk brings together first-hand experiences and practical advice to help you understand your options in the private rental market.

📋 The session includes:

  • A short, helpful presentation on private housing
  • A chance to ask questions during and after the talk
  • 1-to-1 chats with the team after the session, if you want to ask anything privately or informally
  • This is a great opportunity to get advice from people who’ve been through it all – right in your own college setting.

📅 Can’t make it? The same talk will also be delivered at the York SU Housing Fair on Tuesday 17 November in the Spring Lane Building.

Faxival 

Faxival is our annual summer event, open to all members of Halifax College.

The barbeques and giant inflatables make it perfect for students, including those with children. It's one of the most exciting events of the year!

For students with children we host family specific events in college and celebrate some of the popular traditional events such as Easter and Halloween.
