Putting the DISC in digital creativity and coding

The Digital Inclusion, Skills and Creativity (DISC) team within the library have a focus on user education for digital technologies and developing digital skills across the university (and beyond). This talk will explore the ways in which the team has developed a digital creativity and creative coding focused offering, running the Creativity Lab and the YorCreate makerspace and providing the physical and conceptual space for people to have a go, have fun, and be curious with technology.

About the speaker

Siobhan Dunlop is a Teaching and Learning Advisor in the Digital Inclusion, Skills and Creativity (DISC) team, focusing on teaching introductory coding, multimedia creation, and digital creativity. They also work on the ways in which digital technologies impact our lives in the digital society, think about ethics in technology and write poems using code.
