Posted on 3 December 2019

The main path from Lakeside Way to Campus East will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists from Monday 9 December to allow groundwork to continue on the new residences.

Campus east diversion 720 x 405

As part of the preparatory work for the building of new residences on Campus East, the footpath from Lakeside Way to Baird Lane will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists from Monday 9 December until the first phase of residences open in 2021.

Buses will operate as normal and vehicle access will not be affected. There will be signage in place to mark the closed route and any diversions.

Pedestrian and cycle access will be available from the Kimberlow Lane junction, close to Nisa. You'll need to walk up to Kimberlow Lane, but it will only take you a few minutes more.

If you don't mind muddy shoes, we're also extending the footpath from Field Lane across the grass. We know that in the short term this will not be suitable for those with mobility issues, but hope to improve this in the coming months.

Any questions?

We appreciate that this may make your route to and from Campus East a little longer and we apologise for this.
