Pasts and futures of civil society
One of our research strengths at York is the study of the origins, nature, and sustainability mechanism of civil society.
The Centre hosts the Leverhulme Rethinking Civil Society Project. This is a major interdisciplinary project, bringing together History, Politics, and Political Theory, and research centres in York and Gottingen to address a broad range of historical and contemporary issues relating to civil society.
