ESRC Festival of Social Science event

There are millions of 'frontline' interactions between people and public services every day, but we know very little about whether the public thinks they are treated fairly in these encounters. What does the public think fairness looks like in these interactions? And what is the consequence of fair and unfair experiences? This online webinar for policy-makers, government officials, and charities brings together researchers from the University of York’s Administrative Fairness Lab. They will set out the Lab's vision to see frontline public service provision to be reshaped around robust evidence and analysis of what the public thinks is fair. It will include two case studies: on Universal Credit and Homes for Ukraine followed by a Q+A.

This event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2023 and was made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
