Impact support

Impact support

There are a number of people across the University providing support for impact and impact related activities.

Support for impact in the HRC

The HRC's Research Impact Managers are available to advise all academic staff in the Arts and Humanities on research impact.

  • For funding applications - The HRC Research Support team can advise on the potential impact of your planned project and how to present this in applications to meet funder requirements.
  • For ongoing research - If you would like advice on identifying, developing or capturing the impact of your research, contact Natalie at natalie.fullwood@york.ac.uk and Helen at helen.jones@york.ac.uk

Training

The University's Impact team (University Impact Manager and Faculty Impact Managers) together organise various impact-related events during each academic year, including an annual Impact Conference and termly Impact Forums, at which all are welcome.

The Research Excellence Training Team provides a suite of training courses for staff and students covering the impact agenda.

Please take a look at their training course pages for research staff or training for research students or contact the team at rett@york.ac.uk for more information.

Internal Funding

The York Impact Accelerator Fund (AHRC-aligned) provides some funding for activities, such as engagement and networking, that can lead to impact, in 2021-22.

NEW for 2021-22 The Place and Community KE Fund funds Knowledge Exchange, networking and collaboration activities without a need to demonstrate a trajectory through to research impact. Find out more here.
