Event details

Are you a dab hand with a paintbrush? Can you knit a wardrobe of bespoke items? Do you spend your days doodling? We are looking for University of York students to help us make a masterpiece that will be displayed in the Humanities Research Centre Foyer.

The Creative Encounters project, based in the Humanities Research Centre, is looking at research culture: how do we conduct research? What is our research environment like? What is the experience of stakeholders involved in the research process?

As part of this project, we are discovering and delivering ‘visual talking points’ that respond to research being conducted by students and staff in the humanities departments of the University of York.

On 9 June, we are hosting a full day (9am-9pm) of workshops that will support the creation of a massive banner that will hang in the HRC foyer. Researchers from across the HRC (from PhD to Professor) will be invited to come and ‘make their mark’ on the banner, by adding a word or a visual symbol that represents their work to it.

But being a bright mind doesn’t necessarily make you a creative genius… which is where you come in!

The full workshop schedule will be released shortly!
