Many areas of biological research are increasingly dependent on high-throughput technologies, such as Illumina and Nanopore sequencing. The Genomics and Bioinformatics Laboratory provides access to a wide range of these technologies and data analysis methods. These can range from whole genome sequencing to gene expression studies and profiling of species in ecological communities. Our experienced staff can guide you through the whole process from experimental design to publishable results, including quality control, data generation and data analysis.
As well as full service work, we provide access to equipment for sample quality assessment and real-time PCR. The lab also provides training whether as part of a formal course or as one-to-one advice.
All facilities are available to researchers within the University of York, with some services available to external academic and industrial researchers.
