The MSc Global Marketing at The York Management School (TYMS) is a masters programme specialising in the global business context. Students on this course study a range of subjects on topical and exciting marketing areas including Global Marketing, Social and Ethical marketing, Digital Marketing and Brand Management. The programme provides students with the academic knowledge and skills to enable them to pursue marketing careers in the global private, public and not for profit sectors.
The MSc Global Marketing is different from other marketing masters in its specific global orientation within marketing and its cohort-specific, research-informed teaching delivered by both leading researchers and industry experts. The staff involved in this programme are members of the Marketing Group at TYMS as well as of the Centre for Evolution of Global Business and Institutions (CEGBI), a world-leading centre on research in global branding based at TYMS.

Applicants should have a good first degree (2:1 or equivalent) in any subject. Please note that preference may be given to students with some prior study of marketing and/or business management. However students with a 2:2 degree (or equivalent) can compensate for their degree classification if they have had two or more years work experience in a relevant role.

USA: GPA of 3.2 and above
Canada: A score of 3.1 out of 4.0 or 75%

Spain: Titulo de Grado/Titulo de Licenciado/Titulo de Ingeniero/Titulo de Arquitecto with a grade of 7-8.9 out of 10, very good 'notable' or 2.0 out of 4.0
Portugal: Diploma of Licenciado with 16 out of 20
France: A score of 14 out of 20 'bien'
Poland: Bacholor degree from 2001 onwards (or Magister if studied before 2001) with 4+ out of 6.0
India: First-class undergraduate degree
Malaysia: GPA of at least 3 in undergraduate degree
Pakistan: First-class undergraduate degree
Nigeria: Bachelor (Hons) with Second Class Honours (upper) or 3.0/5.0
Brazil: Titulo de Licenciado/a or Titulo de Bacharel/Titulo de (subject area) - 8.0/10
Mauritius: Bachelor with Upper Second Class Honours
Turkey: GPA of at least 2.7 in undergraduate degree
Applicants for whom English is not their first language should provide evidence of English language competence.
Acceptable qualifications for Managment Master programmes are: IELTS: with overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in other components. TOEFL: 87, with a minimum of 23 in Writing and a minimum of 21 in all other components.

Applicants with an IELTS overall result of 6.0 and a 6.0 in the writing part of the test can take the University’s Pre-Masters English Language programme. This programme provides spoken and written skills development in specific subject areas, as well as preparation for Postgraduate level study in a UK environment.

Do I need to submit a sample of written work with my application?
You are not required to submit a piece of written work with your application for the MA in Management Masters programme.
If I have done my final year at an English-speaking University, do I still have to meet English language requirements?
If your prior study is from a UK University within the last two years, or the medium of instruction at your home University was English,* or you have sufficient experience of using English on a daily basis in a work environment* then you may be eligible for a language waiver.
* Please note; for the last two examples we would require further proof / evidence.

Can I work during my studies?
The MA in Management programme is a full-time one year (12 months) taught course. Students can take on occasional evening jobs, but attendance on the course is a priority.
Is there accommodation on Campus for Masters students?
Yes: there is accommodation available for students on postgraduate taught programmes. Further information can be found on the Postgraduate Accommodation webpages.
Can I submit an application now, even though I will not complete my Undergraduate degree until the Summer?
Yes: we encourage you to apply as soon as you can, with a most recent transcript, and any further documents can be added to your online application when available.
