Assessment Leader

Area(s) of Responsibility

I oversee, coordinate and advise on assessment policy and procedure across the department. I also lead the design and delivery of the 4-skills language assessments and administer the academic misconduct process.

Professional Interests

• Language testing
• The rising challenge of contract cheating and other forms of misconduct in HE assessment
• Using technology to engage and assess students

Further Information

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the University-wide Standing Committee on Assessment. I am a committee member for the BALEAP Testing, Assessment and Feedback SIG, and a member of UKALTA, EALTA, and the eAssessment Association. I hold an MA and a PGCert in Teaching English for Academic Purposes and have worked at universities and language schools both in the UK and overseas.
