The invitation to attend came after Paul, and CAHR, secured a UNESCO Chair in the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Expansion of Political Space.

The conference provided an invaluable opportunity to learn about the potential of using UNESCO Chairs to mobilise and transform knowledge for just and sustainable futures. In addition to gaining insight into how other Chairs have used the UNESCO brand to augment their work, the event also enabled Paul to forge connections nationally and regionally, with UK and European Chairs, and thematically, with a number of human rights-related Chairs across the world.

CAHR's UNESCO Chair will be launched at an international workshop to be hosted in York in March 2023.
