These scholarships and studentships are available to students in the School for Business and Society.

Scholarships open and close throughout the year. Opportunities will be advertised here as they become available.

Undergraduate

York Actuarial Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to support academically talented students from lower-income households studying Actuarial Science at York.

  • Funding: £3,000 per year
  • Academic year: 2022/23

York Refugee Bursary

The Refugee Bursary is a non-repayable award for students who come to York and have a Refugee immigration status.

York Bursary

Depending on your household residual income you could be eligible for our non-repayable York bursary.

Care Leavers and Estranged Students Bursary

This bursary is for students aged under 25, who come to York as care leavers or who are irreconcilably estranged from their parents.

  • Funding: Annual awards over the duration of your course

York Opportunity Scholarship 2022

The York Opportunity Scholarships have been established to provide support to talented students who have the academic potential to study at York.

  • Funding: £3,300 paid over three years
  • Academic year: 2022/23
  • Application deadline: Friday 30 September 2022, 11.59pm BST
  • Open to: UK (home) students

Postgraduate taught

York Graduate Loyalty Discount

If you've previously studied at the University of York, you could be eligible for a tuition fee discount for postgraduate taught courses.

  • Funding: Ten per cent tuition fee discount
  • Academic year: 2022/23
  • Open to: International (including EU) and UK (home) students

Chevening Scholarship

Chevening Scholarships enable outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to pursue a one-year Masters degree in the UK. Chevening looks for the kind of people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide the solutions and leadership needed to create a better future.

  • Funding: Full tuition fee plus living stipend
  • Academic year: 2023/24
  • Application deadline: Tuesday 1 November 2022, 12pm GMT
  • Open to: Students from Albania, Algeria, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia and more (see eligibility)
  • Number available: Ten co-funded by York, plus the main awards

York Minster Scholarship

York Minster offers choral and organ scholarships lasting 12 months or longer to altos, tenors and basses who are undergraduate or postgraduate students.

St Wilfrid's Church Scholarship

St Wilfrid's Catholic Church offers choral scholarships lasting 12 months for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses to form a quartet.

  • Number available: 4

Yorkshire Bach Choir

These awards pay for vocal lessons for any students contributing to ensembles, and singing in the Yorkshire Bach Choir. It could also be to increase the lesson allowance of Music students, particularly those who are part-time and specialising in performance.
