Introduction to Postgraduate Teaching at York

Wednesday 30 January 2019, 1.30PM

Teaching at York is a paid part-time work opportunity and can be a great way to earn some money while developing a range of crucial employability skills (communication, group facilitation, presentation, supervision, etc.) that would serve your CV well whether you are planning a career in education or beyond.

If you are thinking about teaching at any point during your degree, tomorrow's workshop will tell you how and where to start seeking out teaching opportunities at the university, how to approach academic departments, and what training and support is available to you here at CWS and throughout the university. Current PhD students who are experienced postgraduate teachers will also be there to talk to you about their experiences teaching in different departments and answer your questions. At the end of the session, you will walk away with a resource list of departmental contacts and details on how to apply to teach there.
