Interdisciplinary Global Development Centre launch

Posted on 2 May 2018

On Monday 4 June, join an afternoon of activities and debate on interdisciplinary research for development.

Supported by the University’s Strategic Investment Fund, the Interdisciplinary Global Development Centre (IGDC) will bring together research expertise from all three faculties to offer a suite of teaching programmes on development.

To celebrate its launch, the Centre is hosting an afternoon of stimulating debates and talks, including a keynote lecture from Professor Paul Cooke, the Centenary Chair in World Cinema at the University of Leeds.

Based on his GCRF-funded project on India, Brazil, and South Africa, Paul will be speaking about the use of participatory video for advocacy and international development. Paul's keynote will be followed by short presentations of past and current IGDC research projects and the opportunity for attendants to share research ideas.
