David Efird Student Prize

A prize of £300 will be awarded to the student who achieves the highest essay mark (>72) in the field of analytic theology, philosophy of religion, or research on contemporary issues or themes using a philosophy of religion perspective.

This prize is generously funded by the family of Dr David Efird, who taught at York from 2002 until his sudden death in 2020.

Eligibility

Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.

Open to students in the Department of Philosophy.

All students submitting work on the relevant areas of focus will be considered as part of their studies.

How to apply

There is no separate application process to complete.

How we allocate

The successful student will be notified following the Board of Examiners' meeting at the end of Semester 2.
