Two day course gives flavour of language teaching

Posted on 5 January 1998

A two-day course at York aims to introduce people to the teaching of modern foreign languages. The course, which is free, will include presentations, meetings with experienced and newly-qualified teachers, and a half day observing language lessons in a secondary school.

The course will be held in the Language Teaching Centre at the University of York, and run by staff of the Department of Educational Studies.

"This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in language teaching to get a flavour of the job," said Philip Horsfall, the course organiser. "We are particularly pleased that the course is supported by the Teacher Training Agency, which will enable us to provide training and refreshments for free and to reimburse travel costs."

Places for this course are full, but anyone interested in attending a course like this should contact Philip Horsfall, Department of Educational Studies, University of York YO1 5DD, tel 01904 432482, fax 01904 432481 or email ph18@york.ac.uk
