Dr Anika Haque wins the 2023 AXA IM Research Award

Dr Anika Haque, IGDC member and one of the co-leads for the Urbanization and Health network, has been awarded the 2023 AXA IM research award for her globally impactful work and contribution to the field of climate change.

This marks her as the first global south scholar to receive this award.

AXA IM is a global award, given to only one mid-level academic per year globally and acknowledges Dr Haque’s 15 years of work on urban climate change resilience in the global south. It will also fund her future research to increase the research impact.

The Daily Star, one of the leading national newspapers in Bangladesh, has featured an interview with Dr Haque after receiving the award. You can find the full interview here.
