Scholarship: PhD in Global Development (UK/EU Students)

News | Posted on Monday 27 January 2020

A three year full-time interdisciplinary PhD opportunity is now available.

The PhD in Global Development programme has a strong interdisciplinary approach to enable students to bring wider expertise to bear on global development challenges. In line with this approach, students will have two supervisors from different disciplines and they will be trained in different sets of methodologies across quantitative (such as original data collection and secondary data analysis) and qualitative methods (such as interviews, focus group and archival data collection and analysis). We also value and encourage partnership with relevant external organisations, though this is not a necessary component of the programme.

We will offer one full-time 3-year scholarship, covering UK/EU level tuition fees, a maintenance allowance of £15,009 (current rate) and a small research allowance.

The deadline to apply via the University of York postgraduate online application system is 5pm on Friday 27 March 2020.

We encourage applications from outstanding candidates who are committed to tackling major global challenges, using interdisciplinary perspectives.
