Enterprise Works’ flexible incubation and acceleration programmes provide support, advice and workspaces designed to meet the changing requirements of launching and growing businesses. Once you’re here, our wide ranging business support will ensure access to the right people, skills, funding and contacts that will drive your company forward.

Whether you choose to be in the vibrant town centre at our newly refurbished Guildhall, or closer to the well connected campus at our York Science Park or Catalyst locations, each provides working spaces to help foster collaboration as well as desk and office spaces to support your business’s formation and growth. The addition of Barclays Eagle Lab support to residents in these locations increases your growth potential.

Delivered by York Science Park, businesses based at The Guildhall, The Catalyst and Phase One will have unique access to the knowledge and expertise of world-leading academics at the University of York and an annual programme of events and workshops; including learning lunches, social and networking events.

Phase One Incubator Programme

Foundations for a sustainable future

Phase One is an entrepreneurial start up space and programme supporting students, spinouts and digital, creative, tech and science innovators to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.

It is based at The Catalyst, at the heart of the University of York’s Campus East. It provides the time, space and support to start, grow and develop your business.

Developed in collaboration with partners from across the region, members benefit from a practical support programme of advice, workshops and mentoring.

Phase One members get personal, direct access to a range of specially selected partner organisations who will use their significant knowledge, skills and expertise to accelerate your growth potential.

Phase One is open to pre-startups or businesses less than 12 months old working within the digital, creative, technology and science sectors.

Businesses applying for Phase One must be able to show that they are willing to work hard, and dedicate themselves to growing their business, making the most of the space, mentoring, support and guidance on offer to them.

Knowledge Exchange Training

A wide variety of knowledge exchange training can be delivered by staff from the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange Directorate.
