Accreditation: BSc Actuarial Science

Our BSc Actuarial Science is accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

This is a mark of our course's quality and guarantees its relevance to the actuarial profession. Successfully completing this course will take you part of the way to qualification as a professional actuary.

After your degree you can continue to study with the IFoA and gain professional qualifications which will help you get ahead in your career.

The IFoA is the UK's chartered professional body dedicated to educating, developing and regulating actuaries based both in the UK and internationally.

About the accreditation

Successfully completing the BSc Actuarial Science with an average mark of 65% or higher and passes in all relevant modules allows you to claim a block exemption from all of the following IFoA professional exams:

  • CM1 Actuarial Mathematics
  • CM2 Financial Engineering and Loss Reserving
  • CS1 Actuarial Statistics 1
  • CS2 Risk Modelling and Survival Analysis
  • CB1 Business Finance
  • CB2 Business Economics

With a lower final mark, you can still apply for exemptions from specific exams depending on your marks in individual modules.
