Virtual sessions with University staff

Monday 11 December 2023, 10.00AM to 1pm

Session one: Horizon Europe - What is it and how to get involved?

10am to 11am

This overview of Horizon Europe and the UK’s new eligibility helped to kick-start your research plans.

Branwen provided an introduction to those new to European research funding and/or staff wanting to hear about the latest developments. De-mystifying the structure and requirements of Horizon Europe will help you see where your research can fit; plus information about resources and sources of support will help you plan your application.

This session was aimed at both potential applicants and research support colleagues; it started with a presentation followed by a Q&A.

Session two: Collaborating for success in Horizon Europe

11.30am to 1pm

During this session, Branwen focused on the opportunities for collaborative research and innovation projects in Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe.

Potential applicants heard how to navigate the opportunities and the steps to preparing a successful application. It included signposting opportunities - how to find and understand the calls, plus hints and tips (and avoiding pitfalls) when preparing an application. The session outlined the trajectory that successful applicants have followed, providing a better sense of what makes a successful application.

It covered questions such as ‘What do applicants need to bring to the table?’ ‘How can you build on networks and track record?’ and ‘How do I put Pillar 2 proposals together?’

This session was aimed at both potential applicants and research support colleagues.

If you were unable to attend here are the slides.
