University wins awards for customer service and staff development

Staff at the University of York are celebrating winning two important awards.

The Directorate of Facilities Management and the University’s subsidiary company, York Conference Park, have been presented with both the Investors in People and Customer First awards.

The Investors in People award recognises the University’s commitment to developing the knowledge and skills of its staff, while achieving the Customer First standard demonstrates a commitment to excellence in customer service.

Keith Lilley, Director of Facilities Management and York Conference Park, said: "Our staff have worked tremendously hard towards these awards which they thoroughly deserve.

"Achieving these two accolades underlines the University’s commitment to staff development and to putting customer satisfaction at the heart of our work."

The Directorate of Facilities Management is responsible for estates, facilities and services across the University campus while York Conference Park is responsible for conference, printing and retail activities.  Between them they employ 700 staff.

University of York Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Cantor presented the awards at a special ceremony for staff.
