Precarious employment and fathering practices among black African men

Mandisa Malinga is a split-site PhD student at the University of South Africa and University of York's Centre for Women's Studies funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and the National Research Foundation. Her research interests include gender and masculinities, positive psychology, violence prevention, identity, race and fatherhood. Her current PhD work focuses on 'Precarious employment and fathering practices among black African men' which investigates the impact of informal/precarious (un) employment on the lives of African men including their ability to fulfil their role as fathers.
