Interactions between problem substance users and hospital staff

Previous research from the US has demonstrated that hospital staff can be distrustful and judgmental in dealing with problem substance users and that users can be aggressive and manipulative. This study aims to investigate the experiences and attitudes of problem substance users and hospital staff in a single acute care setting in the UK.
