Practice Education Support

The Department of Health Sciences Practice Learning Team works with our practice partners to support our students' practice education activity. We allocate students' practice experience, provide advice on practice learning concerns and support both students and practice partners in all aspects of supervision and assessment in practice.

In 2018, the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) introduced the Standards for Student Support and Assessment in Practice (SSSA), replacing the previous mentorship standards, SLAiP (NMC 2008) for nursing and midwifery. We have implemented these standards across our practice learning circuit.

We are proud to be members of The Midlands, Yorkshire and East of England Practice Learning Group (MYEPLG) representing Approved Education Institutions (AEIs) across the Midlands, Yorkshire and East of England. The group leads on collaborative practices in response to the NMC Education Standards (2018).
