Profile

Biography

I joined the National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedagogy (NCELP) team in January 2019 to help lead CPD to 18 Specialist Teachers in nine Leading Schools across the country acting as language hubs, taking forward the recommendations made in the Teaching Schools Council’s Modern Foreign Languages Pedagogy Review.

Career

After graduating from The University of Birmingham with a BA(Hons) in French and Hispanic Studies, I completed a PGCE in MFL at the University of Leeds. Over the course of my career I have held positions of leadership at subject, departmental, Senior Team and Local Authority level, and most recently as a Specialist Leader of Education. Whether as a class teacher or a leader, developing and enabling others is the aspect of my professional practice which motivates me the most. Additionally through undertaking a Masters in Special Educational Needs with the University of Leeds I was able to develop my expertise in inclusive learning, and have held the position of SENCo in two schools, as well as having been Lead Professional SENCo for the Leeds Authority.
