Biography

I have spent my career as a secondary school history teacher. I moved to York in 2006 and am currently Head of History at Millthorpe School. I have a strong interest in teaching a more representative History to my students and have helped author a school text book that explores a more diverse history of 20th Century Britain. I coordinate York Clio, the network for history teachers in York and the surrounding area. I also run the York Branch of the Young Historical Association offering enrichment opportunities for keen history students. I am a fellow of the Historical Association and a course leader on their Subject leader and the History Teacher Development Programmes.
