Profile

Biography

Simon joined the department as a Lecturer in 2023. His research interests include prosody, the relationship between phonology and phonetics, and dynamical models of speech production. Currently, his two main research foci are phrase-level prominence relations and the modelling of prosody in the framework of articulatory phonology. Before coming to York, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Linguistics at Cornell University. He completed his PhD in early 2021 at the University of Cologne.
