New Publication for Joshua Mardell

News | Posted on Thursday 19 May 2022

Congratulations to Dr Joshua Mardell and his co-author Adam Nathaniel Furman on the publication of their new book!

The cover of the book with rainbow coloured text

"Queer Spaces: An Atlas of LGBTQIA+ Places and Stories" is a lavishly illustrated 'atlas' celebrating over 90 queer spaces, such as a queer independent bookshop in Glasgow, Category Is Books, the Coppelia ice cream parlour in Cuba where your order is coded (strawberry is the queerest flavour), and the ruins of Santiago Apostol Cathedral, in Nicaragua, which is occupied by the underground LGBTQIA+ community.

Read more on the publisher's (RIBA) website, and see also a review in The Guardian.
