Event details

The Bearpark Fund is a very generous legacy by Dr Michael Bearpark to the Friends of York Art Gallery made for the purpose of purchasing an addition to the permanent collection of paintings at York Art Gallery. A committee, chaired by the Senior Curator Dr Beatrice Bertram, has now identified and arranged purchase of a suitable artwork by a major 20th-century British artist.  An announcement as to the identity of the work will be made in due course. To mark the occasion we are organizing a lecture on the painting and the painter to be given by Robert Upstone, formerly Senior Curator at Tate Britain, and external advisor to the project.

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception 7.00-8.00pm in the Huntington Room, K/122 King's Manor.  There is access via a lift to this room.

All welcome!
