Wakefield-born artist and CWS MA student Emily Ryalls has been bridging her academic research and achievements during her CWS MA in Women’s and Gender Studies with her original artistic practice. In a new original exhibition at The Art House in Wakefield, running between Dec 6, 2025 and February 28, 2025, Emily explores the body as a living archive of memory and knowledge.
Through performance, sculpture, and photography, she has collaborated with over 40 women to reimagine embodied memory through archiving, asking how we can care for, share, and preserve it.
The exhibition has become an active site of connection and discovery that will develop during the show through a programme of thoughtful feminist gatherings. Read more about the exhibition.
Visitors can now RSVP for the exhibition launch on Dec 5, 2025, which will offer an exclusive look at the exhibition and celebrate with a Drinks Reception at The Art House on 5 December from 18:00–20:00.

Congratulations, Emily! We are so incredibly proud of you!
