CWS PhD student writes in The Conversation on Playboy and Halloween

Posted on 26 October 2023

Congratulations to PhD student Daisy McManaman who has an article published in The Conversation looking at how the Playboy costume has become a popular Halloween costume.

In the article, Daisy discusses the history of the playboy suit and how some women found the suit sexually empowering. They then explore the origins of how the playboy suit rose to become a staple Halloween 'sexy' costume in the 1990s and 2000s. Daisy also reflects on her own experiences of making a rhinestone bunny suit as part of her doctoral arts practice.
