Mediation Flowchart

A typical mediation will follow the structure shown in the flowchart below.

Party 'A' contacts mediation coordinator

Mediation coordinator contacts part 'B' to ask about mediation

Mediation coordinator arranges date and mediators

Mediators meet with each party separately

Parties meet together for facilitated discussion with mediators

Parties record any agreements if required

Mediation coordinator follows up after approximately 1 month for feedback

Glossary

Parties - the individuals in dispute who take part in the mediation

Without Prejudice - the details of the mediation cannot be used in any future procedures (for example, a grievance or harassment case).
